1000 Guineas Curragh Racecourse Travel Guide

It’s due to host the 2009 Boylesport Irish 1000 Guineas on 24 May, the day after the Irish 2000 Guineas is raced.

Curragh Racecourse Travel By Road from Dublin

The Curragh is located just off junction 12 of the M7, between Newbridge and Kildare Town. To get to the Curragh from Dublin, take exit 9 off the M50 onto the N7, southbound. Exit the N7 at junction 10, and continue along the M7 to junction 12. For more detailed directions and maps, visit the AA Roadwatch site.

Free parking is available at the Curragh Racecourse, or you can purchase annual preferred car parking at a nominal rate.

Curragh Racecourse Travel By Bus

Special buses leave Busáras (Dublin Central Bus Station) in Dublin on race days and return 30 minutes after the last race. You can call Bus Éireann at +353 1 836 6111 for more information.

Curragh Racecourse Travel By Rail

Mainline trains from Heuston Station (Dublin), Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway stop at a seasonal train station for the Curragh Racecourse on all Classic race days, including the day of the Boylesport Irish 1000 Guineas. A return train ticket costs about €13.

Trains also stop in Kildare Town, and there’s a complimentary shuttle service between there and the racecourse.

Curragh Racecourse Travel By Taxi

Taxis are authorised to pick up and drop off passengers at the Curragh Racecourse main entrance. Local taxi numbers are posted on all public payphones at the course.

Curragh Racecourse Travel By Air

The Curragh Racecourse is located 25 miles from Dublin International Airport and 16 miles from Baldonnell. There is also a helipad behind the main grandstand.
